about

One Trick Pony? (yes, the question mark is intentional) was partially written in February of 2020. Charlie jotted down a couple of lines of the first verse and a rough idea for a chorus, something about the world crashing down, just before the world actually did come crashing down, after which the rest of the song just kind of came together on its own. The title was a working title from the beginning, hence the question mark, but we think now that it’s official, it helps to convey some of the uncertainty that we all started feeling going into the Spring of 2020. For some, it was the comforts and care of loved ones we needed to get through a really tough time. For others, it was increased opportunity for solitude. And some of us simply needed to lie down for awhile, then put pen to paper.

lyrics

I'm a one trick pony in this two bit town. Everywhere I go seems like three's a crowd.
And I just want you in my life when the world comes crashing down.

Dream of me and I'll dream of you. In our dreams is when I feel true.
Oh the poetry that will flow from me when the world comes crashing down.

I think we will make it through. I know you will. You were always stronger than me.

Well the next town on, it's all the same. I'm more at home, home on the range.
But in between leave me to be unseen, when the world came crashing down.
When the world came crashing down.
When the world came crashing down.

I think we will make it through. I know you will. You were always stronger than me.

I lied alone till you came to me. You held me tight and you washed me clean.
I just want you in my life as the world comes crashing down.
When the world came crashing down.
Yeah the world came crashing down.
When the world came crashing down.

I think we will make it through. I know you will. You were always stronger than me.
I think we will make it through. I know you will. You were always stronger than me.
